As we celebrate Earth Day, we are reminded that every action we take individually or as a society, big or small, matters. Our Mother (Earth) has been struggling with her health as a direct result of the cumulative effects of our ignorance. As we fill her oceans with plastic, cut her trees down, belch toxins into the air, poison her soil and cause untold damage to other parts of her body with the use of invisible rays of electro magnetic frequencies, the many forms of damage affect all living beings on this planet including us humans.
Many of us have taken steps to reduce the waste we create, recycle what we can, make decisions to purchase products that are eco-friendly and eat consciously in order to live more in balance with natural life energies. Because we know many of you, we can say with confidence a lot of you hold a vision for a world where everyone receives the care, concern and takes actions needed to live a long healthy life. These seemingly simple steps can make a positive impactful difference in the quality of life. You may not realize how just how many ways your daily drink of Biolumina Spirulina has a positive effect on the Earth, so here are some of the ways!
Spirulina, not only nourishes you, but it also holds the potential to revive the entire ecosystem of this planet we call home. Spirulina produces more oxygen than any other organism because it has the highest known photosynthetic conversion rate. Its whole lifecycle is carbon positive because of this amazing ability. Do you know that algae is said to produce 70% or more of the earth’s oxygen? Some scientists have calculated how many ponds of Spirulina it would take to completely stop global climate change! (Hint: it’s probably less than you think!) With the willingness to do so, it could be done easily, quickly and economically. In fact, it would cost much less than any of the other mitigation strategies currently being discussed and result in a massive positive change in the entire biosphere. Not only would it be more economical, it would have none of the downsides of the often absurd ideas (think geo-engineering with aerosol sprays for example) about how to make a difference. Many of these strategies are simply attempts to create more control and it does not take being a scientist to see this, just a small amount of critical thinking. But we digress…
On the positive side, this idea would not only have none of the downsides, it would have multiple tremendous upsides! For example, in the proper growing conditions, Spirulina can be harvested every 3-5 days days, and since a human can live on about 1 to 2 tablespoons per day, it is a super food to not only increase our planetary oxygen levels but it also holds the possibility to end world hunger. Imagine if we had the will and the financial means to drop Spirulina into Sudan, Gaza, Iraq, Kenya, Libya, Afghanistan and the many other places where people are known to be starving right now. Would that be a service to humanity and make us world hero’s and heroines? This is one of many dreams that we hope to fulfill with New Phoenix Rising! It is more than a dream however.
Some of you may remember that during the time that the Lakota people were fighting for their water rights (still ongoing unfortunately), New Phoenix Rising in partnership with many of you, our Customers and Distributors, were responsible for supplying quite a lot of BioLumina Spirulina to the people who were bravely wintering over at the scene of the crime. Most of those donations were channeled through the indigenous grandmothers because we knew that they would know the best way to distribute the goodness. As we grow as a company, we can do much more!
But feeding people is just one example of the upside of the idea. If the ponds were created around the world, each one could be a contributor to the well being of the local people where the pond was located through the creation of jobs and other economic benefits. Yet another benefit is the many other uses for Spirulina such as a recycling agent, a bio-remediation substance, and a fuel source if needed. The list is long so we’ll leave it at that for now. In addition, when you need/want to replenish your supply you can order a “refill pack” to refill your jar. This one change that New Phoenix Rising made, multiplied by the thousands of folks who eat BioLumina daily is preventing thousands of pounds of plastic going into the land fill yearly.
Our other products, Harmonic Biome and Fearless Tea are also packaged in Miron Glass, with refills for all the products in a reduced plastic sleeve, inside a cardboard box!
